This post is dedicated to a dearly loved, far away friend, with whom I have shared many beautiful walks through the Herefordshire countryside.
I miss you and hope that, when lockdown lifts, I can enjoy your company once again.
Here is one of my favourite poems for your special day:
New Every Morning
Every day is a fresh beginning
Listen my soul to the glad refrain
And, spite of old sorrows
And older sinning,
Troubles forecasted
And possible pain,
Take heart with the day and begin again.
by Susan Coolidge
(Apologies to Susan Coolidge for crediting the poem to the wrong poet in my recording – oops!)
Many happy returns of the day, dear Rachel.
With love from Julia xxxxx
