Last week, my husband and I marked our 30th wedding anniversary by retracing our steps back to Plymouth Marjon University, where we met during our 4 years’ training to be teachers, from 1988 to 1992.
I was interested to read the new Marjon Student Pledge:

…and this ‘world-changers’ poster caught Sean’s attention:

If I had my time again, I’d spend a lot of it in the picturebook section of the library.

Porters’ Lodge is now a grocery store. Gone are the payphones, where we used to queue to make a call. Gone are the pigeon holes, where I collected my letters from loved ones far away. The joy of recognising much-loved handwriting on sealed envelopes, then reading and re-reading the contents, sustained me through my first winter of grey concrete clouds of homesickness.

The post box still stands as a memory of the letters flowing to and fro.

I posted some postcards for old time’s sake. My mum’s arrived in Liverpool this morning (Thursday to Monday – not bad going for a second class stamp!).

More books for my Christmas list…
